Benavides Driving School is authorized by DPS to administer the road driving/skills test for teens and adults 18 years or over. The staff and instructors at Benavides Driving School were very courteous and professional. You can tell they are passionate about their jobs, and it shows from the minute you walk through the door.

Benavides Driving School is licensed and bonded by the state of Texas. All our courses are approved by Texas Education Agency, Department of Public Saftey, and TCADA. Benavides Driving School first opened its doors in April of 1975. No matter how hard it was to teach a student to drive or to teach the basic rules of the road, he did.
Teens

The state requires, by law, any teenager between the ages of 15-17 years old to take a specific amount of hours when taking a driver education course. It's broken up into two phases. Phase one is the classroom and phase two is the driving. 7 hours of behind the wheel training with one of our professionally trained and patient instructors.
Adults

Adult classes are held every Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Brownsville, Harlingen, and McAllen. Adult courses available for your convenience during our regular business hours. The Adult 6 hours class consists of the the traffic rules and signs, all the different rules and regulations you have to know before you are eligible for obtaining a Texas Driver's License.
Defensive Driving

Benavides Driving School offers a state approved Defensive Driving Course for ticket dismissals, insurance discounts, safer driver knowledge, and new rules updates. B.D.S. has been in business since 1975 and has always strived, with their DDC program, to update and refresh drivers on new laws and techniques in order to become safer, better, and more responsible drivers on our Texas highways.
