The Midwifery Model of Care promotes evidence-based, one-on-one, family centered care that is often lacking in mainstream Obstetrical Practices. As midwives, we offer the same care schedule you would receive with an Ob/Gyn. We believe it is a higher quality of care because we have longer appointment times where we connect, answer questions, and really learn to trust each other.
Through this we take fear out of the birth process and create space for a joyous and empowering birth experience. At Tree of Life Birth and Gynecology we provide well woman exams, preconception consultations, hormone evaluation, and primary care for simple issues or referral for more complex issues.

As a nurse midwife, Kaleen has worked hard to be able to offer families all birth options: home birth, birth center, and hospital birth. She started out as a doula and childbirth educator before getting her RN degree. She believes all women benefit from prenatal care with a midwife due to the emphasis of the Midwifery Model on education, partnership, and natural childbirth.

Our mission is to provide women in the Central Florida area and beyond with high quality, up-to-date breastfeeding education and support that is based on scientific and experiential knowledge. Tree of Life's Lactation Consultant, Allika Alce, IBCLC, Leads our Breastfeeding Support meetings at our College Park Location every Wednesday at 12pm.
Postpartum

The first six weeks following child birth is known as the postpartum period. At Tree of Life we believe in the Fourth Trimester which includes the first three months with your newborn. This time with your new baby is very exciting and wonderful. It is also very exhausting and a time for adaptation into parenting.

You may have heard about postpartum blues or postpartum depression. Some women experience this and some don't. You may feel elated after birth and the days that follow, especially if you had a good birth experience. But you may also find yourself sore, tired, in pain, or somewhat overwhelmed. And sometimes, women alternate between elation and depression.
