Dr. Anthony DiTomaso is Board Certified through the American Board of Internal Medicine as a Diplomate in Gastroenterology. He is the Owner and President of Gulf Comprehensive Gastroenterology, LLC a subdivision of Florida Digestive Health Specialists since 2011. Dr. DiTomaso began his solo practice in 1995 and founded Gulf Comprehensive Gastroenterology in 2010.

It is very important that you follow the instructions that were given to you by your physician regarding the bowel preparation. This bowel cleansing will help you have a successful exam. Please call your physician if you have any questions. Come to the center wearing loose comfortable clothing. It is best that you leave all valuables and jewelry at home.

A responsible driver or predetermined mode of transportation that is available to you immediately upon completion of your procedure. You will be unable to operate a motor vehicle for up to 24 hours after your procedure. Our goal is to treat each patient with respect and like a member of our own family.
Upper Endoscopy

The Term "EGD" stands for esophagogastroduodenoscopy, also known as upper endoscopy, and is a procedure usually performed by a gastroenterologist (GI or intestinal doctor). This test involves passing a long flexible black tube with a light and video camera on one end through the mouth to examine and visualize the esophagus (the swallowing tube leading to stomach), stomach and the first part of the small intestines called the duodenum.
