Our institution's philosophy is to provide students with the best possible opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills, experience, and judgment required of a quality education in aviation. Our goal is to provide the resources that will assist each student in reaching his or her ultimate potential of becoming private pilot, professional pilot and/or flight instructor.

During your Introductory Flight lesson, which lasts up to 1 hour, you may have the chance to pilot a plane over New York with the assistance of one of our trained and FAA certificated flight instructors. The trial lesson introduces you to the basics of aviation in the greater Albany and Utica / Rome areas and helps you discover the skills required to learn how to fly a plane.

The Hewison Aviation Flight Training Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)3 organization and able to accept tax-deductible donations. According to the FAA's 20-year forecast, commercial aircraft traffic is expected to increase more than 2% for the next 20 years. The number of aircraft pilots is not forecast to increase.
Staff

Our staff consists of experienced aviation professionals of all ages. We are confident that we have an instructor that you will enjoy! All of our Instructors have over 1,000 hours of flight time. The experience level of our staff is another of the many factors that sets us apart from the competition.
Financing
Report
Don't let the cost of flight training keep you from flying. Financing of flight training is a fairly common practice, and alleviates the financial aspect of learning how to fly so that students can focus on success. Even if you intend to pay off your training shortly after completion, financing may still be a good option.
