About Us
Report
Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) is a "Member Club" of USA Gymnastics (USAG) and totally supports the USAG philosophy of "Athletes First, Winning Second." We teach gymnasts (children), not gymnastics (the sport). At LASG, we believe learning takes place best in a stress-free, fun environment.
Classes
Report
Various after school programs are available to meet your needs and can be combined with formal instruction classes. Please inquire with the office about availability and pricing. Students in classes meeting more thanonce a week, or the after-school programs, are assessed 2 hours or $50/session. Students inclasses meeting 1 time/week are assessed 1 hour or $25/session.
Teams
Report
At LASG, we are proud to field both a Girls' Team and a Boys' Team. Girls who have achieved the Bronze Level or above and are deemed qualified by the Director are part of our travel team and compete at meets throughout New Mexico. Our team is participating in the Xcel program, an alternative optionals program for levels Copper through Diamond (levels 3 through 10 equivalent).
After School
Report
Children who have not taken gymnastics classes before enrolling at LASG will in almost every case be assigned to a recreational level class. These include Mommy and Me, Preschool, Kinder-Rec, and Levels 1-2 Copper. The decision to "move up" is made by the head coach in consultation with the child's instructor, and is influenced by the child's skill progression, maturity level, and age.
