From a young age, Joe Backer knew he had a love for music. I started sitting down at our family piano when I was a young child and would pick out tunes I had heard my brothers and parents singing. My mother quickly realized my interest and worked hard to find great teachers for me. Music dominated my life all throughout my childhood and young adult years, leading me to pursue music degrees in college and graduate school.
