We brought my wife's engagement ring in to be serviced just before our tenth anniversary. The owner was to restore the milgraining on the ring, and. the rhodium plating, tighten the diamonds in their settings, and replace one tiny diamond that had fallen out of the band. The owner promised the ring would look as good or better than new when he was finished with it.
When we returned to pick up the ring, we noticed that the milgraining had not been restored. We pointed this out and the owner agreed to do it on the spot. He took it away for a few minutes and returned with the ring and we paid and left. When we got home, we noticed that the milgraining was very roughly done - not at all delicate like the ring had been originally.
