Reading Montessori
Founded in 1979, Reading Montessori School is a preschool for children ages 3-6 based on a program developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Our goal is to foster each child's development to its fullest potential; physically, intellectually and socially.

The Montessori philosophy and specially designed classroom materials help each child develop patterns of independence, concentration, perseverance, thoroughness and self-esteem to become competent learners with a real love of learning as well as respect for themselves, others and their environment.Reading Montessori School offers both a preschool and kindergarten for ages 2.9 through 6.

Curriculum
Report
The importance of the Practical Life exercises cannot be overstated, for they form the basis for the other areas of the curriculum: Sensorial, Language and Math. These exercises must involve real activities in a real environment that teach the child that she can do things on her own to care for herself and her environment.
Community
Report
Reading Montessori is fortunate to have a very active Parent Guild. With the goal of enhancing the Montessori experience, the Parent Guild raises funds for our enrichment programs enabling us to have music, drama, science, and puppeteering experiences throughout the school year.

In addition to the work for the enrichment program, the Parent Guild organizes gatherings and some adults only events such as: community service projects, mom's/dad's night out, and fall/winter/spring socials. The Parent Guild welcomes participation from all. A fantastic school with a top notch staff.
