Cool Sunshine RV Park was founded by Wade and Amy Price, lifelong residents of the San Luis Valley, with a vision to create a welcoming retreat for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation. Located just one block from downtown Alamosa, Colorado, our park offers easy access to the region's most iconic attractions while providing a peaceful, home-like environment. Our 41 full-hookup RV sites and six tent sites are designed to accommodate diverse needs, with modern amenities including Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and a fitness center. We prioritize guest comfort year-round, maintaining clean facilities and offering 24/7 access to essential services even during winter months. Our pet-friendly policy and proximity to cultural and natural landmarks make us an ideal base for exploring the San Luis Valley.

Our 41 RV sites feature 50/30/20 amp service, water, sewer, and Wi-Fi access. Back-in and pull-through configurations accommodate various vehicle sizes. Covered patio areas with putting green enhance outdoor enjoyment while maintaining connectivity to essential utilities.

Tent Camping

Six designated tent sites include access to shared facilities and electrical hookups. Gravel pads protect landscaping while providing stable ground cover. Nearby sink facilities support basic dishwashing needs for tent campers.

Propane Filling

On-site propane refilling station serves recreational and heating needs. Staff monitor supply levels to ensure consistent availability for guests requiring fuel for cooking, heating, or vehicle maintenance during extended stays.

Laundry Facilities

Coin-operated laundry room remains accessible 24/7 with coded entry. Machines accommodate large loads while change machines and product dispensers provide necessary supplies for extended use periods.

Questions

What are your check-in and check-out times?

Check-in available after 1:00 PM, with check-out required by 11:00 AM. Late check-outs may be accommodated for $20 with prior arrangement.

Do you allow pets?

We're pet-friendly with $3 nightly fee per pet. Animals must remain leashed, cannot access facilities, and require waste cleanup by owners.

Are you open during winter months?

We operate year-round but restrict winter access to self-contained units November-March. Bathrooms/showers close seasonally while laundry and fitness rooms remain available.

What nearby attractions exist?

Great Sand Dunes National Park, Zapata Falls, and Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad all within short driving distance from our Alamosa location.

The Cool Sunshine team had us set up for our arrival and we pulled right in to our spot. No problems whatsoever, hookups were conveniently located in a central area and worked great for our situation. Great stay, highly recommended.

One of the cleanest and well cared for parks we have been to and we have been on the road for a month and a half. Staff were very informative and helpful - even printing out a bike path for us to take. Great laundry facility as well. You can't go wrong staying at Cool Sunshine RV Park.

Nice quite park right in town. Easy access to every in downtown, just a few blocks from the intersection of Hwy 160 and Hwy 285. Nice sodded grass areas between the level gravel sites with plenty of room for slide outs and our side patio. The road between the rows is large but they allow parking on the sides of it so that can make exiting kinda tight. I really liked that the entrance gate, people gate and access to the main building were all codded with the last 4 digits of your phone number.The dog park is really small and their requirement of you to read and sign their polices is a little over

Cool Sunshine was friendly, new and well situated. While not necessarily a charming RV park in itself, it was beautifully maintained, new trees had been planted, and the grass was impressively maintained. They had a cute putting green, and their showers, laundry and community rooms were immaculate. After hours, a security gate closed to provide a safe environment. Given this was a home base for trips to the Dunes, Zapata Falls and the bird sanctuaries, the location was great. We really enjoyed the couple of days/nights we spent here! Over the past few parks we've stayed at we've had power fluctuating issues in the freezing mornings, but not here! The grounds are nice and well kept. The only "complaint" I might have is that the dog park is pretty small. Overall it's a great park and I recommend it to anyone looking for a stay in this area.

Aces! We stayed at Cool Sunshine for three weeks in April and then again for a night this fall when we were coming and going from our summer job in the mountains. Not only was this a safe, clean, easy place to rest our home, it felt welcoming and genuine. It is definitely easy to attribute that to how much the owners are involved and care! When youre on the road, this makes all the difference when you need to feel at home.
Plus, what a great base to explore the area! We loved visiting the Great Sand Dunes multiple times, Zapata Falls and the wetlands. Thanks so much for hosting us Amy and

The check-in process included a personal tour of the common building and how to access. Our host gave me priority over an incoming call about a reservation, very much appreciated. Above average elbow room from your neighbors. Well laid out flow for getting rigs in and out of the park. The access road into the park needs a lot of pot holes filled, just go slow. Close to downtown/Main street, which is easily accessed out the back gate of the park. Small college town meant several brew pubs along Main street. Since it is a new park, don't go looking for shaded sites. They are near railroad tracks
