The International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA) is an international organization for women who hold positions of impact in the aviation and aerospace industry. Founded in 1988, IAWA brings together women of achievement and promotes their advancement throughout the world.

Airports Council International, ACI, is "the voice of the world's airports" and includes 573 regular members operating 1,751 airports in 174 countries and territories, representing more than 95 percent of global airport traffic. ACI is a non-profit organization whose prime purpose is to advance the interests of airports and to promote professional excellence in airport management and operations.

Susan Baer was a pioneer. A 37-year veteran of the aviation industry, she was the first person to have managed all of the major Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) airports. Prior to joining Arup, Susan was the Director of Aviation at the Port Authority.
She was responsible for the safe and efficient operation of one of the world's busiest airport systems John F. Kennedy International, Newark Liberty International, LaGuardia, Teterboro, and Stewart International airports.She was 63. Sheets Brogan had spent the past several decades actively involved in the general aviation community, working with NBAA, GAMA, NATA and AOPA on key issues.
