In the early 1900's, L.J. Jonas established the L.J. Jonas Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Mr. Jonas was the first licensed embalmer in this area and later shared the funeral business with his son Harry Jonas. Mr. Jonas sold the funeral home to Frank and Beulah Wood in 1964 and they later sold it to Tom and Elsie Halbert in 1970.

Joe grew up in Prague attending the local schools graduating from Keystone High School. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country honorably from 1952 to 1953. Upon returning to Oklahoma, he attended a mechanic trade. Sondra was a CNA and was employed at Gibbs Care Center for several years.

Please feel free to contact any of our staff members at any time. Bill Bennett is a 1970 graduate of Salem High School in Salem, MO. He attended Missouri State University and Southwest Baptist University for one year each.
