We recommend pre-surgical blood work to evaluate your pet's anesthetic risk. We also recommend an EKG prior to surgery in order to assess cardiac function. Dr. Blaso explains how preoperative testing lowers the risk of anesthesia for your pet in his "Ask the Doctor" educational video "Anesthesia and your Pet".
