History of Withers
Report
Withers was a Pre-Civil War establishment, and a well-known name in the history of Atlanta, Georgia. This is a story of the American Spirit in the Land of Opportunity. Census records indicate that the Withers family was originally from England, and came to the United States sometime around the 1800's.
Horizontal Mills
Report
Horizontal Mills - The horizontal mills can perform a number of applications in one setup, and their configuration allows for machining large parts. The arrangement of the horizontal boring mill allows for easy access and placement of the workpiece on the machine table. Large workpieces can be placed on the machine table with an overhead crane and can overhang the table if needed.
Vertical Mills
Report
Vertical Milling Machines - These vertical mills are designed with the spindle in the vertical position, which works well in applications where flat or long parts can be placed on the machine table. Parts are secured on the table using vises or other holding devices. We haver four CNC vertical milling machines and four manual vertical machining centers.

Owner is childish. Does not treat people equally. Different rules for different people. Below average pay for most employees. Company has been around for 100 years with no real improvement to work environment. No air conditioning for summer. Still using mainly HSS for drilling because machines don’t have through coolant. Very disorganized shop. Spend more time looking for tooling/tool holders/collets than actually making chips. Company needs to improve in work environment, machining capabilities, and attitude of management. I do not recommend working there.
