The theme for International Literacy Day 2021 is "Literacy for a human-centered recovery: Narrowing the digital divide." International Literacy Day is an initiative of UNESCO. How will you observe International Literacy Day? Millions of New Yorkers are forced to get through the day without the literacy skills they need every day.

Could the rest of us go 5 minutes? On #InternationalLiteracyDay, Sept 8, we are going to make a big splash to help adult learners in New York! Stay tuned to hear their stories, take an exciting challenge, and find out how you can help. Literacy of Northern New York trains volunteers to work one-to-one with adults who need help with reading, writing, math or English as a second language in Jefferson and Lewis Counties.
