Kohnen Air Conditioning & Heating, Inc. was founded in 1973 by Gerald Kohnen. The business was started as a small one person shop in his parents, Aloys & Minerva Kohnen's basement. The business prided itself on providing personal and friendly service to a growing customer base. The business soon outgrew the boundaries of Gerry's parents basement and found a new home at the small building behind the old hardware center.
The business continued to grow and new help was brought in to help meet the demand. Soon Gerry met his life-long wife and sound business partner, Ann. The business soon once again found itself on the move when ground was purchased and a building was erected at 1104 Sycamore St. in Germantown (the current location).
