Hilltop Preschool is a special place, nestled quietly in Fountain Valley, California, where parents and children play together and learn together. Sharing school experiences with their parents, the children see the results of adults working together to accomplish mutual goals. Our philosophy of early childhood education begins with a school environment of unqualified love, warmth, acceptance and understanding that each child is a unique individual. The philosophy at Hilltop is based on the belief that self-esteem is the foundation upon which all learning rests. Young children develop it naturally when they believe in themselves, their abilities and their worth.

Hilltop has long followed a child-centric philosophy in its approach to early childhood education. This philosophy encompasses a play-based curriculum and the belief that a child's school environment should be one of unqualified love, warmth, acceptance and respect. Recently, the staff and parents have explored a similar education philosophy that is known as the Reggio Emilia Approach.

Hilltop is staffed by fully qualified, enthusiastic and caring professionals all of whom have extensive training and background in the field of child development, possess CPR/ First Aid Certification, and are active participants in professional workshops in order to enhance their knowledge, growth and development as teachers guiding young children and their parents.
Our Environment

The physical environment at Hilltop encompasses a wide variety of play equipment; materials for art, science, language enrichment and more curriculum than could possibly be explained here; animals; a vast outside playground with garden centers; and much, much more. We are certainly fortunate to have a lot of equipment and the space in which to house it.
