For over 100 years WITA has been a leading advocate for the telecommunications industry in Washington State. The following list of WITA Committees provides additional information on, and the membership of, each Committee. This committee will identify, research, and make recommendations on general problems involving accounting procedures, requirements imposed by federal law, practice, and methods. They will develop workshops to further members' education on accounting-related matters.

The Washington Independent Telecommunications Scholarship Association (WITSA) was formed in 1986 for the purpose of awarding higher education scholarships to the dependent children of full-time employees of Washington Independent Telecommunications Association Member companies and Associate Member companies located in Washington.

In the coming year more than a half billion dollars will be available for broadband deployment in our state. Public entities including public utility districts and ports have been given retail authority and may received ETC (eligible telecommunications carrier) status as well. WITA member companies have never seen this level of potential competition in the past.
