Dr. Lankenau preformed two of his procedures on my spine to relieve pain from two fractured compression disc knowing full well that I have Osteoporosis. His upper procedure caused the vertebra above the procedure to collapse causing a large hump to form in my back and my rib cage to become distorted. I now have to use a walker and a back brace. Due to my osteoporosis what he did is unrepairable. He's made me a cripple for the rest of my life.

Had surgery 9/18, was to be routine fusion with spacers onlower back. Would be up and walking in 3 days, release from hosp. This couldnt have been further from truth. Its now 9/21 and my left leg (never had a prob till surgery) is still numb in inner thie along with sharp pain when pressure is put on it. I now havea permenent limp because I struggle to bring leg back in after stepping. Hartley never came to see me after surgery but sent his assist on 3rd day when I was told i would be going home. Instead I was now told 3 more days and then nursing home. I was in unbelievabe pain like Ineverfelt

Very personable and informative. Surgery went well and I was advised about pain involved and time to heal in the brace. There were no surprises. Also no miracles. I believe if you find yourself in the position to need a neurosurgeon you are already in a difficult place and need to accept they do their best to help the situation. The staff has always returned my calls and answered all my questions in a manner I completely understood, as has Dr. Hartley. Thank you Dr Hartley and staff. I would like to add this was all taking place during Co vid and great precautions were taken to keep us all

Very frustrating experience with this Dr Hartley. He shouldnt be taking on new patients and the office staff is inept. First visit waited an hour and a half to be told they couldnt upload our MRI CD. Only comes to Phx once a month. Gave him another chance to be told when we got to office that he was doing a surgery and wouldnt be able to see us. Not acceptable!! Took off work twice with lost pay to be told this is normal business for a neurosurgeon. Very disappointing!!!
