NAMI of Knox/Licking County is an organization of families, friends and individuals whose lives have been affected by mental illness. Together, we advocate for better lives for those individuals who have a mental illness. The families and members of NAMI Knox Licking County Ohio (KLCO) are here to help! We offer understanding to anyone concerned about mental illnesses and the treatment of mental illness. Mental illnesses are brain disorders that are biologically based medical problems. Untreated, they can cause severe disturbances in thinking, feeling and relating.

We are a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization. In relevance, our organization, under several different names, has been putting the pieces of mental illness together since 1949.
NAMI is the nation's largest grassroots service organization, and much like NAMI, our organization, in 1949, was founded by local residents of Knox County whose desire was to assist individuals with mental illness find help and treatment and to provide transportation to Newark, Ohio to the Moundbuilders Clinic.In time the effort expanded to build a clinic locally and funds were raised.

By becoming a member, you become one of the thousands of Americans advocating for the fair treatment of all people, particularly those who suffer from mental illnesses. Regular and Open Door memberships will apply only to one individual. A Household membership will apply to everyone living in a single household whose names are provided to NAMI.
