Sorin, who reached their final destination in northern Indiana and founded the University of Notre Dame. Born Rene Patois in Clermont, France, in 1820, Br. Francis had been a carpenter and mason before entering the Congregation of the Holy Cross at the age of twenty. He was the university's steward and cabinetmaker and had a hand in designing many of its early buildings.

Our staff has strong ties to the community and is committed to serving people of all faiths with compassion and respect. A South Bend native and proud graduate of the "Pride of the Westside", Washington High School, with the Class of 2000. Jessica graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Vincennes University Funeral Service Program, and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

McGann Funeral Homes and Forest G. Hay Funeral Homes merged in November of 2005. Since 1920 the Forest G. Hay Family has served more Michiana families than any other funeral home in the area. We have recently redecorated many elements of the interior and invite you to stop by if you have not seen the place in a while!

Our Morning Star chapel is conveniently located at 21275 Cleveland Rd. in South Bend. Take 31 North, turn onto 31 bypass (towards Michigan) past Michiana Regional Airport and Toll Rd. to Cleveland Rd. exit. At top of exit ramp, turn left. Morning Star is on the left, two blocks past stoplight where the Meijer's store and Berger King is.
