Education Therapy Maui is a family-run provider of specialized tutoring on the island of Maui. Our purpose is to provide quality, effective tutoring to help the children of Hawaii discover that learning is fun. We are equipped to assist students of all levels, with our specialty being Special Education and special needs students.

Math
Report
Math - All tutoring is customized to student's needs. We can accommodate Pre-Kindergarten to high level college courses. Because every student has different needs, we customize each tutoring session to help each student understand math and the concepts needing mastery. We find that with our methods, working one-on-one, students are able to grasp the "ideas" behind what is being taught and "picture" the problems they are trying to solve.
Reading and Writing

Reading & Writing - All tutoring is customized to student's needs. Our reading and writing program is based on breaking words down in order to gain a better understanding of how the letters work together to form words. To accomplish these goals and master reading, we use a multi-sensory approach. A magnetic phonics board allows the student to manipulate the magnetic pieces.
Homeschooling and Homeschooling Support

Homeschooling is typically done by parents or tutors outside of the formal settings of a public or private school. Homeschooling is a viable and very popular option for parents who want to provide their children with a learning environment that is an alternative to publicly-provided schools.

Special Needs and Learning Disability Specialist

Learning disabilities are classified as disorders in which a person has difficulty learning in a typical manner. Some students, for unknown reasons, have difficulty receiving and processing information. This can make it problematic for students to learn in a traditional classroom environment. Learning disabilities are not indicative of intelligence level.

Parents hear continually on the news that Hawaii Schools are not "making the grade" in comparison to Mainland schools. Now, due to budget concerns, the state government continues to cut services and classroom time for Hawaii's students. While this may work in the short term to solve financial problems, the children of Hawaii are even more at a disadvantage, when compared to their Mainland peers.
