Cruise Control Driving School is an awarded and independent state-certified driving school that has been in business for over 20 years. Cruise Control offers driving instruction to all ages and specializes in the state-certified driving course required for 15- and 16-year-olds to receive their provisional/conditional driver's license.
Our complete course also includes the SC State Driving Test from one of our certified instructors. The course also qualifies drivers age 15 to 24 for insurance premium discounts up to 10% by providing a copy of the course completion certificate to your insurance company. Our owners, Kent Lee and Jeff Porter, are local area residents and retired Air Force and airline pilots.

We offer one-on-one driving lessons for individuals who want to improve their driving skills to get you ready for your road test. If you live outside of our local area (Summerville, N. Charleston, Goose Creek, Hanahan, West Ashley, and now in Mt Pleasant), please review our Out of Area Policy in the FAQ section of our website.

You can attend our classroom session as a 14-year-old. However, you cannot start driving lessons until you are 15 and have your permit. We recommend that 14-year-olds be within 6 months of their 15th birthday so the classroom information will be somewhat recent when you take the written test for your permit.
