Our History

Sowiecki Funeral Home was founded in 1935 by Sylvester P. Sowiecki and his wife, Anne B. (Tokarz) Sowiecki. Together, they owned, operated and occupied the funeral home at its present location, 69 West Britannia Street in the Whittenton section of Taunton. After Sylvester's passing, his wife Anne continued the legacy of service, until her passing in 2010.

About the Director

Richard began working in the funeral service industry at the age of 15 with a funeral home in the East Bay area of RI.

He had begun his apprenticeship while in High School at the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Homes a family owned firm of Providence and Warwick, Rhode Island with a team of highly regarded funeral directors and embalmers; Lawrence "Larry" Quintal, Thomas C. Boyle, William H. McGrath, Thomas N. Goodwin, Kevin G. Reilly, Jack Millea, and John Larkin.

We understand these needs and offer a wide variety of caskets that can help make your selection truly personal.
Funeral Shipping
Report
Filing death certificate, notify Social Security, and securing and obtaining necessary documents. Transfer from place of death into our care (additional mileage $3.25 after 25 miles and $95 for additional staff member that may be required for transportation from a residence). Embalming (Additional $125 for autopsy cases, organ donation cases, and infectious disease).
