Since 2007, under the ownership of Erik Carlson and Mark Bergen, Detroit Lakes Aviation has grown from a small operation working on primarily small aircraft, to managing and providing maintenance to many turboprop and jet aircraft. With both owners being pilots and mechanics, Detroit Lakes Aviation has a unique perspective of how aircraft maintenance should be done.
Each customer is kept in control of their aircraft maintenance decision-making process, creating a unique dynamic in which we strive to make the customer happy over the long term, instead of looking to make a quick buck. According to a survey by Austin Eiter, the primary factors of choosing an aircraft maintenance provider include reputation (37%) and a relationship with the mechanic/staff (27%).
