Details: An ABC Banquet license is required for alcohol consumption and service at Venue 1848 with the following restrictions: Alcohol service is limited to four hours and may require a professional bartender. Service may include beer, wine, his/her signature drinks, and a champagne toast. Details: We have a parking lot for Venue 1848 guests behind our building.

I enjoy telling folks that can't quite place my distinctly southern accent that I am from Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina - because I've lived in all those places. I was also in Pennsylvania for awhile, but I'm glad to be back in the South because I don't need a translator and can get good sweet tea.

At the intersection of Church & Main Streets, in historic downtown Appomattox, the old Babcock Store was at the heart of the community. Neighbors came to town to gather supplies and share stories around the old wood stove. Many residents have childhood memories of this building as part of the Hardware Store and reminisce about those Saturday morning trips to town with their daddy.
