Dutch treat Camping opened in August of 1969. It all started out with grandpa (Nelson) not liking the land being un-used. Being a recent gravel pit that was excavated for the highway while lower in the ground made it perfect for private camping. The property being a big open area with both wooded and sand lots.

We worked it to have 2 ponds one for fishing and one for swimming. In 1975 we filled in the swimming pond, and also added our first full hook up. In August of 1975 we added the current pool. The camp has progressed into a popular family destination. Our two daughters Darlene and Linda, run it. Our 3 boys come to help out when needed.
