Why choose restoration over replacement for historic windows?
Restoration preserves architectural character while being more cost-effective and sustainable. Our methods extend window lifespan by decades using traditional techniques that maintain original materials.

Our process includes weather stripping and sealing techniques that reduce air leakage. Modern thermal imaging helps identify specific problem areas without compromising original window integrity.
What types of window materials do you work with?
We specialize in old-growth wood restoration but also handle various historic window materials. Our team maintains expertise in traditional joinery and period-appropriate glass applications.
How long does a typical window restoration project take?
Full restoration projects typically require 8-12 weeks in our workshop. We provide temporary protection during window removal and coordinate timelines to minimize disruption to property owners.

Alison and the crew never dissapoint! I've used Window Woman of New England for several jobs now and will continue to do so in the future. The latest job was a custom transom window for a re-designed doorway. The window was perfect, and constructed with traditional methods and period glass. I couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!

After careful consideration, we decided to restore rather than replace our original windows during a renovation. Alison and her crew were very responsive, friendly, and and performed good work. I learned a lot about the history, mechanics, and upkeep of these windows, and am proud to have saved a part of New England history.
