About Us
Report
I'm a Fayetteville native with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from NCSU. My husband was my high school sweetheart, and we have 3 sassy and spunky daughters together. My first daughter was born at 34 weeks and spent 11 days in the NICU. Breastfeeding was certainly not easy at first by any means, but we knew it was best so we pressed on.
Breastfeeding Support
Report
Breastfeeding isn't always as easy as we'd imagined. Sometimes issues arise that make breastfeeding difficult, painful, or challenging for the parent, the baby, or both! Seeking the support of a well trained IBCLC to find the root problem or even to ease your worries, is the first place to start. Sarah is also the collaborating IBCLC with Duke's Cleft and Craniofacial Team.
Pre- and Postpartum Wellness
Report
For many of us, the transition into parenthood isn't exactly what we'd expected. The books and movies make it look so easy and sound so amazing! Parenthood IS amazing, but it's also very overwhelming. Sometimes the circumstances can cause us to have difficulty making that transition, which is common due to the extreme hormonal shifts from pregnancy to birth.
Therapy
Report
Once your wellness assessment has been completed and you have a care plan in place, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly appointments will be made to help with coping and maintenance. Sometimes medication may be an option for you, and that's something you'll discuss with the midwife, Cinthya, at your appointments.
