My title is Acupuncture Physician with an O.M.D. ( Oriental Medicine Doctorate ). However, I consider myself more of a practitioner of Integrative Medicine who uses Oriental Medicine as my primary healing tool. Oriental Medicine recognizes the body as a self-healing mechanism that can best heal if in homeostasis (balance.)

Chinese Medicine is about 5,000 years old. It is originally based on Taoist philosophy which speaks about the human body in terms of energy rather than matter. The ancient Chinese believed that a basis life energy called qi or chi is present in every living creature, and that it circulates along specific pathways in the body called meridians.

My daughter in law has scoliosis of the spine, I was wondering is acupuncture can help her with the back pain?. Of course the acupuncture won't straighten out a spine but if there are tight and spasmed muscles it can help that, at least temporarily. My husband has high blood pressure and the medication the Dr. prescribed has so many possible side effects he doesn't want to take it.

Integrating the best of modern technology, natural medicine, and empowerment of the patient to provide the best healthcare possible. A remarkable thing about this relatively compact book is how much information McLean manages to include in it without overwhelming the reader.

She summarizes the vast history of Western medicine - how we got from Mesopotamian healing, with its similarities to Chinese medicine, to the American system of corporate health care.
