Performance Play Music School

Performance Play Music School is a privately owned music school/store in Aurora, CO that offers private, group and performance-based music lessons & classes as well as private music-related events (such as birthday parties). In addition, we sell beginner instruments, music books, and musical accessories and rent beginner band & orchestra instruments, guitars, and keyboards.

We are always looking for qualified music teachers and non-teaching employees (administrative, scheduling, etc). To inquire about either a teaching or non-teaching position, please submit an online application (below). In general, we are always looking for guitar, drum, piano, vocal, and orchestral string teachers.

Private lessons are highly recommended for anyone starting a new instrument, or wanting to become a better player. We offer free trial lessons, so you can give it a try before signing up for our month-to month lesson program. Some younger beginners may not know which instrument they want to play, so we can set up a free lesson to try several different ones.

Who should take this class? Youth Pop/Rock bands are for kids ages 7-17 who have been taking private lessons for at least 6 months. Students are placed in bands according to their age, level of experience, taste in music, and weekly availability.

Each band (4-8 students) has their own director who helps them decide which songs to play, how to read their charts, keeps the guitars in tune, helps them understand any part on any instrument, and runs their sound.Goal of the class: Take your instrumental and/or vocal skills to the next level by learning how to play in a band setting.

Summer music camps are a fun and exciting way to experience all the facets of a real pop/rock band. We carefully assign campers to a group that most matches their age, musical taste, and ability. Over the course of a week, the band will learn to play several songs of their choice, write an original song, come up with a band name/logo, design posters/CD covers, record a CD, and finally play a show with all of their material.
