I was shooting a wedding in Maui a couple of years ago when I first heard the term Friendtographer, and immediately fell in love with it. Contrary to popular belief, I wasn't the one who originally came up with the title, it was actually one of my brides.
After a few pre-wedding events leading up to the big day, she informed me that she originally introduced me as her photographer but after getting to know each other, that seemed far too formal so she began introducing me simply as her friend.However, then no one realized that I was also her wedding photographer so she combined the two and from that day forward, being a Friendtographer was a thing.

While individual photos in a gallery can give you a good sense of a photographers style, it won't give you the true feeling and scope of a full wedding day, and when you're looking for a photographer, that's something I believe you really need to experience. You should look to find someone who you believe can bring your wedding day to life and ensure that those memories and emotions are felt years later when looking through your photos.
