Joe Osterbauer was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He attended Benilde-St. Margaret's High School, St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, and received his law degree in 1990 from the William Mitchell College of Law. While going to law school, Mr. Osterbauer clerked at the Cody Law Firm in St. Paul.
