We are a nonprofit school dedicated to providing Montessori education for young children ages 16 months through 6. We are the oldest and longest running Montessori preschool in the Herndon area serving many generations of young students for the last 49 years. Our Director along with the Montessori certified teaching staff and other teachers are dedicated to providing a unique learning atmosphere for students.
We help each child achieve his/her full potential by following the key premises of Montessori education. Please help support our school in continuing to provide a quality Montessori education to children in our community for more than 49 years! MCS offers scholarships and is currently rebuilding the scholarship fund.

Montessori Country School was founded in in 1971 by nine local families in the Herndon area. Their goal was to establish a non-profit school which offered young children the opportunity of a Montessori education. Over the 49 years that have passed since then, we have served our broader community by providing thousands of young children with the unique experience of a Montessori education.

MCS offers a variety of programs for children aged 16 months to 6 years. Both half day and full day options are available with various pick-up time options. Before and After care options as well as summer and winter camps make MCS an ideal choice. Parent & Child (Mommy & Me) Montessori is your chance to experience "Montessori in a nutshell."
