Villages Endoscopy & Surgical Center is a Medicare certified and State of Florida Licensed Ambulatory Surgical Center. The center has achieved accreditation by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Our facility was designed with quality, safety, patient privacy and convenience in mind.

We strive to maintain and improve our services through a continual quality improvement program. The procedures and surgeries provided at Villages Endoscopy & Surgical Center allow the patient to recover in the comfort of their own home within a short period of time and the cost is less than half of similar tests in a hospital setting.

It is very important that you follow the instructions that were given to you by your physician regarding the bowel preparation. This bowel cleansing will help you have a successful exam. Please call your physician if you have any questions. Come to the center wearing loose comfortable clothing. It is best that you leave all valuables and jewelry at home.

Upper GI Endoscopy

The Term "EGD" stands for esophagogastroduodenoscopy, also known as upper endoscopy, and is a procedure usually performed by a gastroenterologist (GI or intestinal doctor). This test involves passing a long flexible black tube with a light and video camera on one end through the mouth to examine and visualize the esophagus (the swallowing tube leading to stomach), stomach and the first part of the small intestines called the duodenum.
