South Manistique Lake is noted for good fishing and for its great variety of fish: Northern Pike, Walleye, Large and Small Mouth Bass, Muskie, Tiger Muskie, and an abundance of Panfish-Perch, Bluegills, Rock Bass and Sunfish. Trout have recently been stocked. Whitefish are also caught in June. Walleyes strike best in May, June, and September.
