Our Team
Report
I was born and raised in the Paris, Texas area where my parents still reside. Growing up in the country started my love of outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the lake. I first attended The University of Texas at Arlington and in 1997 I graduated with my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Glossary
Report
The enamel of the tooth is the hard ceramic like shell which covers the exposed part of your teeth (above the gum line). It is a soft and sticky substance that if not removed on a daily basis, with proper brushing and flossing, can cause gingivitis or periodontal disease. Anytime you have something to eat or drink, your body increases production of bacteria that causes plaque to form.
General & Preventative
Report
In a "normal" cleaning, the hygienist uses a hand instrument to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth then polishes them to remove light surface stains. Cleanings are recommended every 6 months to maintain good oral hygiene and health. If you build up plaque and tartar more heavily than normal, you may need to have a cleaning more frequently than every 6 months.
Root Canal RCT or Root Canal Therapy
Report
A root canal is needed when decay reaches the nerve inside the tooth or from advanced periodontal disease. This can also be accompanied by infection, known as an abscessed tooth, which can be very painful. Many people are afraid of root canals, but the truth is, root canals don't hurt! They relieve the pain of a toothache.
Emergency & Extraction
Report
Nobody wants a toothache! There are several symptoms that could send you to the dentist right away: A broken tooth, cracked tooth, a tooth that has been knocked out or severe pain that may or may not be accompanied by swelling in your cheek and jaw can all be dental emergencies. A dull throbbing ache or stabbing pain that wakes you from your sleep, bad taste or puss in your mouth and fever can all signify an abscessed or infected tooth.
