Backbone

The backbone links your closets and/or buildings. It allows you to distribute network services from a central point to remote locations beyond the limit of standard horizontal cable. Backbones are typically made up of multi pair copper cables for voice and fiber optic cable for your data network.

Report
Defined as the cable and connectors from your workstation outlet to the telecom closet. Can include Category 3, Category 5E or the proposed Category 6 cable (see standards update link). In some cases fiber optic cable may be recommended. You have many choices and we can guide you through all the options so that product mix you choose exceeds your needs for both today and in the future.
