From Initial Attack to Large Fire, our mission is to provide the Best, the most Advanced, and Safest platform available. Andrea and Doug Benson redefined Safford Aviation Service Inc. (SASI) in 1993. Since then, their sole purpose has been to deliver the best possible product that they can. It started with a couple of Beechcraft Barons and a vision.
The result is a fleet of six Beechcraft Barons for fire, a Seneca III and Cherokee Six maintenance planes. With all the Barons enclosing standardized avionics and highly experienced pilots, it is ensured that all will go well in the air.

We are pleased to announce that our fleet of six Air Attack Beechcraft Barons have been custom configured for use on large fires. Safford Aviation's Standardized fleet of Air Attack Barons provides using agencies with the most complete, tactically and technically advanced platforms with seamless coverage for use both on large fire, and initial attack.
Maintenance
Report
Our 10,000sqf maintenance facility was completed in 1942 at the Coolidge Airport, P08. This is where all of the heavy maintenance is done in the winter. We take time to foresee potential setbacks and delays and take all necessary actions to correct them. All the annuals are done at this time and other specialty items such as paint, interior, or avionics upgrades.
Training
Report
Safford Aviation is a Fire Only Company. The aircraft are equipped, and pilots trained exclusively for fire operations. All of Safford Aviation Pilot flight training and ground training are based on required FAR Part 135 training, and additional more complex flight and ground training for the fire environment.
SUAS Imagery
Report
Safford Aviation also provides aerial UAS imagery. The imagery provided is via quadcopter with a 3-axis, 360 rotating gimbal system shooting video in 4K and 12 megapixel photos within 0.03° of accuracy. Our pilots are FAA certified, we are fully insured, and carry an FAA exemption to fly at locations that others may not, legally and safely.
