Founded by the late Gerry Beck in 1974 and located in Wahpeton, North Dakota, Tri-State Aviation, Inc. (TSA) is a company that, among many other talents, specializes in restoring P-51 Mustangs. Tri-State Aviation (TSA) provides a full array of aircraft maintenance, repair and restoration services as well as a diverse offering of machine shop services to industries such as agriculture, aerospace, architecture and engineering.

Tri-State Aviation, Inc. was founded in 1974 as a Fixed Base Operation and aerial spraying service. TSA began producing specialty parts for the agricultural aviation industry and in 1982 evolved into fabricating World War II aircraft parts which eventually led to the restoration of P-51 Mustangs, WWII fighters.

Capable of everything from minor repairs to a proven ability to complete ground-up restorations, Tri-State Aviation specializes in the restoration of P-51 (A, B, D) Mustangs. We can handle the entire restoration process in-house from fabrication to finishes. Tri-State Aviation has a fully outfitted fabrication shop capable of producing finished products as well as tooling.

One of our innovations, named after Don Hinz, is a unique bypass oil filter to detect if the aircraft's engine is starting to "make metal". The bypass oil filter's sensors will alert the pilot to an engine problem. Superboom is not just a streamlined boom, but an airfoil boom constructed of extruded Aluminum.
