Cataract Surgery
Report
A very common problem, cataracts are essentially the clouding of the eye's lens. When cataracts develop, they blur vision. However, cataracts can be effectively treated with cataract surgery, the most frequently performed surgical procedure in the United States. Cataract surgery, which involves the removal of the cloudy lens and the implantation of a plastic artificial lens, is successful in over 98 percent of cases.
Dry Eye
Report
It affects 15-20% of the adult population in the U.S. Although usually mild in severity, even minimal dry eye disease can significantly affect patient comfort and ocular health. Despite greater understanding of tear film production, the underlying cause of dry eyes is often unknown. However, various therapeutic modalities are available to give the patient some relief from chronic ocular problems.
Diabetic Eye Exams
Report
Most people with diabetic retinopathy have no symptoms until the disease is very advanced. By then, it is usually too late to do anything about the vision loss. That's why it is important to get screened for the condition early. That way, doctors can take steps to protect your eyes before your vision is damaged.
