Smiths Station & Phenix City Psychology We currently offer a variety of psychological services, including individual, couples/relationship, family, and group psychotherapy for a variety of concerns. We believe that many problems in life occur when people are not able to live and behave in ways that are consistent with their core values.
During periods of inconsistency, individuals can experience depression, anxiety, isolation, physical health problems, and grief. Our approach consists of a combination of diagnosis and evidence-based treatments which help bring consistency between a person's life and their values. When someone experiences balance in their lives, they experience improved enjoyment and happiness.

Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living.

Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). When you become depressed, you may feel sad or hopeless and lose interest or pleasure in most activities. When your mood shifts to mania or hypomania (less extreme than mania), you may feel euphoric, full of energy or unusually irritable.
