Attic insulation recommended in the NE region is R30 (min.), or 8 inch height for blown-in cellulose as in this case. Interior wall crack outward from door corner is another indication of differential settlement. Black mold on roof rafters caused by moisture and a lack of attic ventilation. This mold can be toxic and should be addressed.
