Electrodiagnostic testing, also known as EMG or EMG/NCV testing is an important tool in evaluating pain, tingling, numbness, weakness, loss of coordination, and basically any complaint that involves the nerves and/or muscles.
While tests such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, bone scans, and the like give important information about how structures in our bodies appear, there are times when the visual findings on CT, MRI, etc. do not explain the patient's symptoms and exam findings well enough.Sometimes the findings are treated, with or without surgery, yet the symptoms continue or spread.

Employers, our workers' compensation group is available to provide medical opinions, treatment, and support for employee work injuries at any of our eight clinic locations across the Mid-South region. With two MRI locations and two surgery centers in Shelby County and DeSoto County, as well as physical and occupational therapy, we offer complete orthopedic care to help get patients back to what matters.

As part of the OrthoSouth and Baptist Memorial Health Care joint Institute for Orthopedic Excellence, OrthoSouth's team of hospitalists practice on-site at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis and Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto. These orthopedic hospitalists provide timely, coordinated care to patients admitted to one of these Baptist hospitals through the Emergency Department.
