Creative Ballet Classes (ages 3-5) are designed to introduce the preschool child to the world of dance and movement. Introduces the elements of classical ballet with the introduction of positions, technique, and preparatory steps. Focus is on musicality, phrasing, terminology and class etiquette. Our Contemporary program includes multiple genres such as Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Irish, Jazz, Tap and Tumbling.
Classes emphasize rhythm, design, shape & motion in space, with deliberate use of gravity. Students are challenged to strengthen their ballet technique while learning ballet repertoire. PERFORMANCE DIVISION PROGRAM Performing is a vital element of dancers growth. Momentum's Performance Division was created to give dancers the opportunity to experience life in a pre-professional dance company and to share their passion with the dance community.

EDUCATION: We offer professional instruction in Dance, Music, Theater, and a day-time Home School program. We also provide after-school enrichment. COMMUNITY OUTREACH: MMDA offers classes via the Burien and Tukwila Parks & Rec programs. We also work with local preschools and reach out to our senior community by offering performances at local area senior living residences.

Nikki Wells is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, earning a BFA in Visual Art in 2007. Originally from Houston, Nikki studied ballet, tap, jazz and modern dance at Dew Ann Cotten Dance Academy for 15+ years. She also spent 3 years dancing with the University of Houston Dance Ensemble before moving to Seattle in 2004.

Our state-of-the-art facility gives us the ability to schedule more simultaneous classes (dance and music), so your family and friends may all participate in Momentum activities at the same time. Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping, which can put stress on bones and joints.
