Founded by members of the Churches of Christ, our mission centers on creating opportunities for spiritual growth through recreation, fellowship, and worship in God's natural environment. Services
Tent Camping
Choose from standard tent sites accommodating up to 6 people or group sites for 12 campers. All sites include charcoal BBQs, picnic tables, and access to modern restroom facilities with hot showers. Reservations require advance booking with payment through Zelle.
Cabin Rentals
Stay in our rustic A-frame cabins with queen beds or tent cabins featuring bunk beds. All rentals include basic furnishings, outdoor cooking equipment, and access to shared bathroom facilities. Linens are not provided - guests must bring their own bedding.
Kids Summer Camp
Our 7-day Christian summer camp for ages 7-13 features Bible-based programming, outdoor activities like hiking and swimming, and team-building exercises. The all-inclusive rate covers lodging, meals, and activities with discounts available for multiple children from the same family.
Group Accommodations
Host groups up to 200 people in our multi-room lodges and dormitory facilities. Options include private rooms with bunk beds, shared common areas, and exclusive-use packages with kitchen access. Minimum stay requirements apply for large group bookings.
Meeting Facilities
Rent our main lodge and fully equipped kitchen for events up to 50 people. Includes access to tables, chairs, and cooking facilities with a refundable cleaning deposit required. Ideal for church retreats, family reunions, and community gatherings.
Questions
What's included in the kids' camp registration fee?
The all-inclusive $400 fee covers lodging, meals, activities, and supervision for our 7-day summer camp. Includes hiking, swimming, crafts, and faith-based programming for children ages 7-13.
Can I rent the entire camp for my group?
Yes, exclusive use is available for $1,500 per day (minimum 2 days). Accommodates up to 50 people with access to all facilities including cabins, lodges, and meeting spaces.
What amenities are available at the campground?
Modern facilities include hot showers, flush restrooms, fully equipped kitchens, BBQs, picnic tables, and meeting rooms. Bedding is not provided - guests must bring sleeping bags or linens.

I meant to post a review of this charming family campground earlier. We had been planning a camping trip over Labor Day weekend in Los Angeles National Forest, but then we realized there would be a heat wave leading to 100 plus degree weather. Our planned trip was a no-go. Our eight year old son was very disappointed. We brainstormed Big Bear as a place to go, as it would be a relatively balmy 85 degrees. Only problem was, I couldn't find any openings at any of the Big Bear campgrounds for the busy Labor Day weekend. I looked and looked, and finally found Camp Tanda. Before Covid, it was a

Great place for groups! We go all the summers and enjoy the location closed to downtown and lake. Also we can use their cabins or our own tents.

Camp Tanda is the best place in Big Bear!! The sweet couple that live on the camp ground keep it clean and beautiful. Lots of room for activities. Gives you the outdoor feel without having to sleep on the cold hard ground. I've come here for years and will continue to come here till they kick me out!! Highly recommend.
