Since 1988 the Florida Youth Orchestra has been providing the highest quality classical music education for young talented musicians ages 6-19. Over 400 members strong, the Orchestra continues to be recognized as Florida's premier youth orchestra.
Under the direction and guidance of its Music Director, Dr. Claudio Jaffe, the orchestras and ensembles perform for thousands of concertgoers each year in addition to regular appearances on local and national television and radio broadcasts.The Florida Youth Orchestra has attracted ongoing interest, support and participation from community leaders, especially those in the arts, education and business communities.

The Florida Youth Orchestra music staff consists of the finest musicians in South Florida. Top artists from the former Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, New World Symphony, University of Miami and Symphony of the Americas offer world class educational and artistic experiences.
Born in Brazil and educated at Yale University, Dr Claudio Jaff made his orchestral debut as a cellist at age 11, and, at the age of 18, made his first appearance as a soloist with a major symphony orchestra.He has since performed with orchestras worldwide, winning the most prestigious competitions and being hailed by the New York Times as an elegant and accomplished artist of taste, technique musicianship and enthusiasm.

Since 1988, over 20,000 children have been educated and inspired by their participation in the Florida Youth Orchestra. As the area's only regional children's arts organization, FYO is highly regarded for its commitment to the finest quality music education, widespread community engagement, and sensitivity to the musical, social and emotional needs of children.
Outreach: STEPS & NO LIMITS

Serving hundreds of at-risk children in this unique after-school program, Music STEPS provides music lessons, instruments and performance opportunity to kids who could not otherwise have access to music education. The program is offered at Title I schools, community centers and social service facilities.
