Legacy Dance was founded by Amanda Heine and Ciera Hensley, two passionate dance educators committed to creating a positive environment for students to explore their love of dance. Our mission focuses on fostering self-expression, creativity, and personal growth through a structured curriculum taught by qualified instructors. We offer classes for ages 2+ in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Tap, Tot Combo, and Acro, emphasizing foundational skills and safe progressions. Our team includes experienced teachers and junior instructors who dedicate time to curriculum development and continuing education. We host annual productions including a Christmas Show and Spring Recital, with a strong emphasis on community engagement and student development.The studio also provides an Intern Program for older students seeking teaching experience and potential Junior Instructor roles. Located in Prineville, Oregon, we serve local families with flexible registration options and online payment systems. Our directors bring decades of combined experience in dance instruction and competition coaching, including state championship accolades. Services
Ballet
Our Ballet program teaches traditional technique with pointe work available for advanced students. Instructors focus on proper form, musicality, and artistic expression. Classes incorporate barre work, center combinations, and performance pieces to develop well-rounded dancers.
Jazz
Jazz classes emphasize syncopation, isolations, and dynamic movement quality. Students learn various jazz styles from classic to contemporary while developing strength and flexibility. Choreography incorporates current trends and performance opportunities.
Hip Hop
Hip Hop instruction covers foundational moves and freestyle techniques. Classes focus on rhythm, musical interpretation, and personal style development. Students engage in group choreography while maintaining individual creativity in a supportive environment.
Acro
Acro classes combine dance and acrobatics with safety-focused progressions. Instructors emphasize proper technique for cartwheels, handsprings, and advanced tricks. Classes integrate dance elements to maintain artistic flow while developing physical strength and control.
Tot Combo

Amanda Heine
Co-Director
Amanda has taught dance since 2006 and directed high school competition teams. She received the DDCA 1a-4a Coach of the Year award and serves as a certified performance judge. She brings 15+ years of local dance education experience.
Ciera Hensley
Co-Director
Ciera has danced professionally since age 4 and taught in Colorado studios before returning to Prineville. She specializes in teacher training and curriculum development. Her expertise includes master teaching classes and competition choreography.
Megan Foster
Office Manager
Megan manages daily operations with accounting expertise from COCC. She coordinates administrative functions and supports families with registration and studio communications.
Heather Richardson
Acro Instructor
Heather teaches Acro and Ballet with 20+ years of local dance experience. She combines traditional training with yoga certification to enhance student flexibility and body awareness.
Maressa Milat
Ballet Instructor
Maressa leads the Ballet department with 22 years of dance experience. She trains students in advanced techniques and pointe work, emphasizing proper progression and artistic development.

What dance styles do you offer?

Do you have performance opportunities?
Yes! We host two annual productions: The Christmas Show in December and Spring Recital in May with multiple performance groups.
What is your Intern Program?
Our Intern Program trains 7th grade+ dancers in teaching fundamentals. Participants assist instructors and may earn Junior Instructor roles.
Are there competition teams?
Yes, we have competitive teams in multiple styles. Directors have 15+ years of championship coaching experience.
