Wellborn Winery
We have lots of OUTDOOR SEATING, including tables under a covered patio and a secluded cabana. We are an unpretentious small farm winery - no fancy food trucks, no live music, no membership fees, just award-winning wines. We welcome your dog, too! Come up our long driveway to our hideaway in the woods.

And beware of our vineyard dog Lily - she sometimes cannot hold her licker! Two other Wellborn Wines, Deep Purple Lenoir and Red Clay Rose won silver medals from among 315 entries. Wines of the South is an annual regional wine competition that began in 2001 to promote and celebrate the great tastes of Southern vintages.

Our Wines
Report
At Wellborn Winery, we produce wines that reflect the history and nature of our upstate South Carolina climate and soil, what the French call "terroir". Before going "pro", we brought in fine grapes and juices from California and Chile to produce some excellent "varietals" (single grape wines). In 2014 we won a double gold at the Florida State Fair for a Merlot we made from grapes from the Sonoma Valley.
The Tasting Area
Report
For your special event, reserve the "Wine in the Woods Cabana"! Nestled at the edge of the vineyard and tasting area near our woods, the Cabana is a perfect spot to host a small party of 6-20 guests. It's always shady and cool there, with covered seating for 12 guests and outdoor seating for another 4-8 friends.

We're about 1 mile from the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 290 (Locust Hill Road) at 254 Mush Creek Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690-9231. On Fridays & Saturdays, look for our sign on Mush Creek Road, then turn up our long driveway into the "Winery in the Woods"! Go up to the circle and park, then saunter down to the tasting area.

On the last Sunday of January, Debbie hosted a Crochet and Sip event with ace instructor Joyce as 17 ladies learned how to make fantastic winter hats while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine. Some actually finished their hats during the 2-hour event, while others applied finishing touches at home.
