People living with diabetes are prone to having foot problems, often because of two complications of diabetes: nerve damage (neuropathy) and poor circulation. Neuropathy causes loss of feeling in your feet, taking away your ability to feel pain and discomfort, so you may not detect an injury or irritation.

Starting tomorrow, remove bandage and wash foot (shower is ok; soaking it in a bath is not). If sore, you may soak in Epsom salt and warm water 5-10 minutes twice a day (apply antibiotic ointment and band-aid after). If there is significant Drainage or you notice an increase in pain, redness or swelling, please contact our office (812)949-1002.
