We believe that involving parents, teachers and children in a cooperative manner results in the best early-education experience. We provide an array of exciting, developmentally appropriate activities that allow each child to learn, grow, explore, and discover at his or her own pace.

History
Report
Ruth Hodson Langenheim, a journalist from the Midwest, established West Falmouth Preschool in 1952 in the basement of the West Falmouth Library. She was the first teacher and director of the preschool. She was also a mother of five. After moving to West Falmouth from Boston in 1950, she realized there were no early educational opportunities for her younger two children.

They are truly dedicated to building a solid foundation of life-long learning for their students. Our teachers attend classes and workshops throughout the year, continually embracing professional growth, and sharing the knowledge they gain with our families.
The Cooperative Experience

We are a parent cooperative school which means that parents are active and essential partners with our teachers in many facets of "running the school." Parent cooperative responsibilities include assisting in the classroom to help teachers with various projects, working on fundraising projects, and maintaining the school.
Five-Day Program
Report
West Falmouth Preschool offers families a five-day preschool program. The children attend school from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day with lunch and an option to "Stay and Play" until 3:00 PM. Our classroom is a mixture of age groups. The students' work is determined by their capability. We strive for kindergarten readiness and the students are encouraged to achieve or surpass their individual academic goals.
